TRAUMA
> to face and deal with responsibilities, problems, or difficulties, especially successfully or in a calm or adequate manner
If there’s one thing that is constant, it’s that life is full of change, and it can be difficult to live with. Trauma isn’t just losing someone close to you, being the victim of abuse, or hard relationships at home. Trauma can be moving, starting a new school or even being rejected by the girl you asked to prom. We’ve got to learn to deal with change to keep going in life. That’s what we call building resilience.

Coping with change takes patience, and lots of it. Growth, development, and maturation is a process. We have the ability to regulate our emotional state and choose our best behavior in any given challenge or crisis. However, there are times when you become stressed and your ability to live consistent with your values is challenged. Sometimes parents and children can be overwhelmed with their current situation and it pushes them beyond their current ability to cope.
Divorce. Changing homes. Moving towns. Change is fraught with anxiety and stress. Some people adapt and thrive, while others wonder what’s going on with the life they planned. Grieving is a natural process, and knowing how to move past obstacles and press forward in life can be tricky. At Life Launch Centers, we help people thrive. Short-term, focused therapy gives them tools to move their life forward again.
